      Short version: RiseMind is built for your personal growth — not to sell your data. We don't share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your journal entries, mood data, and usage patterns stay on your device.
    

1. Who We Are

RiseMind is a mobile application ("App") designed to help you build positive daily habits through motivational content, mood tracking, and journaling. The App is operated by the RiseMind team ("we", "us", "our").

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to deliver a personalised, working app.

Information stored on your device

Mood data — your daily mood check-in selections (e.g., "motivated", "stressed")
Journal entries — reflections and notes you write in the app
Personality traits & goals — your onboarding preferences used to personalise content
Usage data — quotes viewed, favourites, streaks, audio plays
App preferences — theme selection, audio settings, notification times

This data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. It is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use a backup or sync feature (not currently available).

Information collected automatically

Purchase receipts — processed through Apple App Store / Google Play via RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat may collect anonymous usage data per their Privacy Policy.
Crash reports — if the app crashes, anonymous diagnostic information may be sent to help us fix bugs (via Expo/EAS crash reporting).

We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information unless you contact us directly or join our waitlist.

Waitlist information

Waitlist email address — collected when you join the waitlist, used only to notify you of launch. You can request removal at any time by emailing [email protected].

We do not use your waitlist email for any purpose other than notifying you of the RiseMind launch.

3. How We Use Your Information

To personalise your daily quotes, audio affirmations, and content based on your mood, goals, and traits
To track your streak and progress over time
To verify your subscription status and unlock Pro features
To fix bugs and improve app stability

We do not use your personal data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

RevenueCat — for subscription management. See their Privacy Policy.
Apple / Google — your in-app purchases are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Their respective privacy policies apply to payment processing.

We do not share your mood data, journal entries, or personal preferences with any third party.

5. Data Retention

All personal data (mood logs, journal entries, preferences) is stored on your device and remains there until you delete the app or clear app data. We do not retain your personal data on our servers.

Purchase receipts are retained by RevenueCat to validate your subscription. Refer to RevenueCat's privacy policy for their retention practices.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — use the "Export Data" feature in Settings to download your favourites and journal entries
Delete your data — delete the app or clear app data on your device to remove all locally stored data
Opt out — you can disable analytics by contacting us at [email protected]

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

RiseMind is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's own security features. We do not transmit your personal content to external servers. We take reasonable precautions to protect any data that does transit our systems (e.g., crash logs) using industry-standard encryption.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify you in-app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
